Since 1981, Families USA Foundation has been a leading national voice for health care consumers. Through our long-standing relationships of consumer leaders, advocates, and partner organizations across all 50 states and the District of Columbia, we have remained steadfast in our mission – Dedicated to the achievement of high-quality, affordable healthcare and improved health for all. We advance our mission through public policy analysis, advocacy, and collaboration with partners to promote a patient-and community-centered health system.
Your Role
Our ideal candidate will:
- Develop and advance Families USA's Early Childhood policy and advocacy priorities.
- Work closely with senior leadership to set organization-wide policy goals and direction, making policy recommendations and identifying strategies and tactics to advance early childhood policy priorities.
- Maintain thought leadership in the broader early childhood policy community.
- Review and analyze policy literature, laws, and regulations to inform organizational early childhood policy recommendations and identify opportunities for affecting policy change.
- Prepare high-quality memoranda, regulatory comments, issue briefs, fact sheets, reports, white papers, legislative language, grant proposals, advocacy guides, blogs, and other materials.
- Maintain positive relationships with external partner organizations, stakeholders, and funders.
- Coordinate and collaborate with state and national advocates surrounding early childhood policy initiatives.
- Represent Families USA with the media on policy advisory panels, coalitions, and working groups on early childhood policy priorities.
Your Experience
A true passion for our organization's work! Master's degree, J.D., or other advanced degree in child development, health, public health, or public policy. Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood and child health policies and policy advocacy strategies and tactics. Outstanding writing, communication, and policy analytical skills with the ability to write to diverse audiences. Prior experience interacting with the media to increase awareness around the organization's early childhood initiatives.
