Elicker for Mayor – Deputy Field Director

 

Elicker for Mayor Campaign is seeking full-time deputy field director applicants for a data driven volunteer field operation. Deputy field directors will be responsible for executing the field plan and for supervising regional field directors, along with their field organizers, within their assigned region. Deputy field directors will report directly to the Field Director.

 

Justin Elicker is running for Mayor of New Haven. Justin's vision for New Haven is one where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, no matter what neighborhood they live in. The economic inequality in New Haven is decades in the making, and he will be the Mayor that does something about it on Day One. 

 

Justin is a two-term Alder, from East Rock, and 2013 Mayoral Candidate, who most recently ran the New Haven Land Trust: a community based nonprofit focused youth programming, community gardens and providing healthy and sustainable resources for New Haven neighborhoods. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Sending out detailed daily priorities lists to assigned staff with goals, metrics, and assignments for the day.

  • Ensuring that daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met and exceeded.

  • Conduct extensive coaching and development with staff on best practices for volunteer recruitment and retention.

  • Ensuring that all required reporting is accurate and timely and that all regional data is entered on time.

  • Monitoring metrics within each assigned region including flake rate, confirmation rate, knocks per shift, dials per shift, and average shifts per volunteer; implementing rigorous systems to meet assigned goals associated with these metrics.

  • Assisting with staff recruitment, onboarding, and training.

  • Representing the campaign at community events and meetings when advised by the campaign.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least two cycles of competitive field experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Basic computer literacy, database skills, and access to a reliable portable computer.

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast paced, metrics driven work environment.

  • Must have reliable access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license.

  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while handling multiple projects.

  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
