The Working Families Party of Oregon is hiring a Statewide Organizer to strengthen and expand our dues paying membership base, develop community leaders, and develop and execute electoral, legislative, and power building strategies in the state. The Statewide Organizer will report to the WFP Oregon State Director and work in collaboration with the state committee and national party to build lasting power for Oregon's working families.

You Are:
An organizer with a background working in diverse communities to develop and execute community organizing, dues paying membership, legislative, and electoral programs.
Knowledgeable and willing to learn more about Oregon's political landscape - including labor unions, advocacy groups, movements, and local leaders.
A strong written and verbal communicator, with a willingness and ability to connect with people of all backgrounds and experiences.
Above all, a tenacious, organized self-starter with an unwavering commitment to building real, lasting power for working families in Oregon.
Responsibilities:
Community and electoral organizing - In the near term, lead efforts to support local and regional organizing in 2019 that drives towards building and winning WFP's 2020 electoral agenda.
Membership building - Oversee the Oregon WFP's efforts to expand and support dues paying WFP membership and leadership development.
Communications - Craft and implement digital communications calendar, including e-blasts, social media posts, and other forms of mass communication.
Fundraising - Provide critical support at the Oregon WFP's annual end of year fundraising event; play a key role in crafting and implementing fundraising strategies for 2020 and beyond.
Requirements:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
3-5 years organizing experience through community advocacy, labor unions, and/or electoral campaigns.
Organized, reliable, and committed to doing political work in Oregon for at least the next 2-4 years.
Clear, genuine understanding of the need to build independent political power for working families in Oregon and beyond.
Prior interest and involvement in the Working Families Party preferred.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary for this position is $50-55K, depending on experience. A competitive benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays, and generous vacation and sick time. Opportunities for additional training and advancement are available.
