Job Description
A progressive Democratic candidate for US House is seeking a skilled Field Director for a primary campaign in the metro New York area. The Field Director is responsible for building out the campaign's organizing capacity and planning and executing the campaign's voter contact strategy. The Finance Director works closely with the candidate, campaign manager, and volunteers to ensure the campaign's message is delivered throughout the district through canvassing, phone banking, texting, peer to peer organizing, and other methods.
Responsibilities
● Ability to write and implement a comprehensive, data-driven field plan
● Build and manage a field leadership team to execute said complex field plan
● Set, meet and exceed benchmarks for voter contact, volunteer recruitment, grassroots engagement and GOTV
● Design and standardize best practices for data management using the campaign's voter file software
● Establish a strong professional culture within the field organization focused on accountability, specific goals, innovation and sense of purpose
● Coordinate field organizing with fundraising operations
● Manage the field program budget and logistics in collaboration with senior staff
Qualifications
● 1-2 cycles of campaign field experience
● Extensive experience managing and training high performing staffers
● Experience designing, maintaining and improving a goal-oriented
accountability structure without compromising staff autonomy or innovation
● Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meeting frequent deadlines
● Extensive experience with and ability to train on Votebuilder (VAN)
● Strong communication and organizational skills, showing attention to detail
● Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
