Finance Director needed for congressional race in NC 6
Angela Flynn for Congress, NC Congressional District 6, is seeking a smart, organized, and energetic Finance Director. Angela Flynn is a 20-year church Director of Worship and progressive woman of faith. The Republican incumbent has been tainted by association with a corruption scandal within the state Republican party and has been placed on the DCCC's 'retirement watch list'. A lawsuit is pending regarding the gerrymandered congressional districts in NC which could impact the race, but the campaign proceeds with current lines. The Finance Director will play a pivotal role in fundraising to flip this seat from red to blue and send another NC Democrat to Washington.
Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to Democratic values along with an understanding about how a campaign of this size is structured and run effectively.
Primary Responsibilities
Plan and execute fundraising events
Organize and staff candidate call time
Organize and implement volunteer phone and text banks.
Facilitate connections between local donor base and the candidate
Develop prospect lists for call time
Oversee and/or contract appropriate FEC compliance
Coordinate, oversee, and participate in email and social media fundraising campaigns
Work independently and collaboratively
Work evenings and weekends
Basic administrative skills such as simple accounting, filing, data entry, and record keeping
Train and manage volunteers, interns and future staff
Qualifications
Experience with congressional level campaign finance preferred
Well versed in NGP VAN Campaign Software
Familiarity with North Carolina politics and donor base is preferred
Experience in event planning and execution
Experience doing call time
Background in social media and email fundraising
Knowledge of digital fundraising and best practices
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google programs
Highly committed to the candidate and the values of the Democratic Party
This is a full-time position requiring a commitment starting as soon as possible through November 2020. The position will be based in Pittsboro, NC. Indefinite supportive housing available; salary and win bonus negotiable.
Extensive travel throughout the 6th District is to be expected; reliable transportation is a must.
