[jobsthatareLEFT by GAIN] Democratic Baltimore campaign seeking organizer/volunteer coordinator

Democratic Baltimore campaign seeking organizer/volunteer coordinator with strong organizational and communication skills for short-term race. 

 

Prior experience staffing or interning for a campaign is desired. Individual must be able to work campaign hours which include some evenings/weekends, have access to a car, and work in Baltimore, MD. 


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and manage volunteers and interns for phone banking, door knocking, events and other volunteer activities. 

  • Create, in coordination with the Campaign Manager, the volunteer outreach strategy. 

  • Manage volunteer database. 

  • Support the campaign's field program and voter outreach strategy. 

  • Conduct volunteer trainings and facilitate phone banks, canvasses and other volunteer activities. 

  • Help supervise the intern program. 

  • Staff the candidate at events. 


Qualifications:

  • Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated interest in Democratic politics

  • Patience, kindness, and ability to have fun

  • Experience with VAN/Votebuilder a plus

  • Experience with Excel

  • Car and valid driver's license preferred 

  • Ability to work long hours including nights and weekends
