Citizens to Elect Rick Larsen is looking to hire a Finance Director. Reporting directly to and working closely with the Political Director the Finance Director will be responsible for all finance administrative duties and fundraising efforts for the 2020 re-election of Congressman Rick Larsen. The position also serves as a support role for the Political Director on a variety of miscellaneous projects. Duties are outlined below.
Position Responsibilities:
Fundraising –
Finance Director will plan, implement and oversee all aspects of the fundraising plan for Citizens to Elect Rick Larsen. Including but not limited to fundraising event solicitation and planning, donor prospecting, management of both individual and PAC contribution strategies, and follow-up related to all calls made, pledges given, contacts established and possible leads.
More specifically the Finance Director will develop a fundraising strategy to fulfill a $1.5 million budget using the following tools: Member and staff call time, email and snail mail solicitations and event planning. Further the Finance Director will be asked to think creatively and research other fundraising avenues and opportunities while adhering to the rules established under the Federal Election Commission.
In addition, the Finance Director will be required to keep impeccable records to track all of said work and progress.
Administration –
Finance Director will be in charge of a host of administrative duties such as bill pay, preparation and filing of federal taxes , payroll and assisting in the preparation of Federal Election Commission Reports.
Finance Director will prepare and organize all said administrative functions and then present them to the Political Director for final approval and signature.
Fundraising Communications –
Finance Director will be the point for all snail mail and email communications, donor communications and other relevant fundraising messaging. Finance Director will draft all language and submit to Political Director for final approval.
Prospecting and Acquisition –
Finance Director will take a proactive and aggressive approach to growing the campaign donor list through research, prospecting and innovative planning. Candidates applying should understand that building finance systems and lists is a central focus for the 2020 campaign. Finance Director should be prepared to pursue paid and unpaid avenues to grow the email lists and donor lists; turning those acquisitions into donors.
Citizens to Elect Rick Larsen is a very collaborative environment. The duties outlined above will be the core duties of the Finance Director; however, an "all hands on deck" mentality is expected to find success in this organization.
Qualifications:
College degree or equivalent in political science, business administration, finance, or a related field
3-4 years lead experience in a related field with campaign experience preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of people
Superior organizational skills with attention to detail
Strong networking skills
Superb written and verbal communication skills
Strong research skills and experience
A self-motivated worker
Flexibility and a willingness to accept new assignments and challenges
Program management experience; experience with a volunteer-based organization a plus
Flexibility to work beyond normal working hours, as needed
Desired Qualifications:
Wide-ranging experience with political compliance using NGP software
Additional Information:
This position will require extensive travel within Washington's 2nd Congressional District and the surrounding areas with occasional travel out of state.
