The Partnership Project is a coalition of environmental NGO's focused on building collective infrastructure to achieve and defend sound environmental policies & protections.  The Partnership Project is forming a first of its kind innovation center that will seek to centralize collective data learning across the environmental community and is seeking an Innovation Director to lead the design, development and growth of this effort. This position will develop a data innovation operation that can grow to scale and help coordinate and socialize data project learning on the applications of advanced data to an audience of stakeholders that are leading the progressive community's fight for the environment. Successful candidates will be self-starter with a demonstrated record of high level problem-solving skills and has the ability to work independently and effectively in an action-oriented environment.

The specific duties of this role and its key qualifications and capacities are detail below. 

Specific duties:
Develop a strategic plan that maps out the vision, objectives and metrics for performance on short, medium and long term horizons
Understand and be able to tell the story of the applied value of data as it relates to policy advocacy and organizational development
Engage key audiences in the development and success of the project
Understand and leverage existing data vendors and their offerings
In conjunction with the COO, design and manage a project budget & revenue plan sufficient to achieve project goals while maintaining sustainable levels of revenue and spending
Integrate existing data-centric efforts within the organization in furtherance of the coalition's long term data goals
Effectively engage with other data staff within the organization and data, advocacy, development and management staff at coalition organizations to develop, assist with and leverage relevant collaborative opportunities
Build out and directly manage a team of staff, consultants and vendors

Key qualifications & capacities:
At least 10 years of relevant experience in the realm of data or the application of data to achieve program enhancements
A strategic change leader who is creative, politically aware and can combine critical thinking with long-term vision
Knowledge of non-profit issue and campaign work and the data/tech tools that are used to manage and assess program
Must have a familiarity with progressive data and technology and a strategic perspective on the progressive data space (Targetsmart, Catalist, VAN, etc.)
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to organize complex ideas for others to understand.  Must have patience and ability to adapt to training and educating leaders at all levels.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced team environment
Willingness to travel for in-person engagement with key audiences
Major preference for candidates who have experience with either or both coalition work and the environmental community
