PRESS ASSISTANT/DEPUTY PRESS SECRETARY
A top tier Western Senate campaign seeks a Press Assistant or Deputy Press Secretary to join its fast-paced communications team. (Title and salary will be commensurate with experience.)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Drafting press releases, advisories, talking points, op-eds, and other content
· Monitoring media throughout the day for key updates, in partnership with research department
· Aggressively pitching campaign events and activity to media to generate coverage
· Coordinating logistics for campaign press events and calls
· Staffing principal, surrogates, and press at media events
· Compiling and organizing clips, talking points, press contact information, and other materials
Successful candidates will have:
· 1 or 2 years of professional communications experience, or strong past experience as a campaign intern
· Strong written and verbal communications skills
· Proven organizational ability and attention to detail
· An ability to work quickly and accurately, meeting fast deadlines
· A commitment to working collaboratively with a diverse team
· A sense of humor
