Job Summary:
The Executive Director is the operating arm of the Greene County Democratic Central Committee (GCDCC). The Executive Director reports directly to the Chair of the Central Committee and carries out all directives and initiatives approved by the Central Committee.

 

Qualifications:

The Executive Director must be a self-starter who can take the initiative when needed. They must possess basic Democratic values and have the necessary credibility to interact with Democratic affiliated groups, activist groups, the press, and the community. The Executive Director must hold a high level of technological literacy, exception oral and communication skills, and a diplomatic demeanor. An ideal candidate will have experience in electoral and issue-based field campaigning, social media organizing, staff management, and fund development. A college degree is preferred. The candidate must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

 

Salary:

This is a full-time position that requires a very flexible work schedule. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Job Description

Executive Director of the Greene County Democratic Central Committee

 

Definition:

The Executive Director is an at-will employee who serves as the operating arm of the Greene County Democratic Central Committee (GCDCC).  The Executive Director reports directly to the Chair of the Central Committee and carries out all directives and initiatives of the Central Committee. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

1.        Responsible for recruiting, supporting and training candidates for Greene County offices.

2.      Responsible for actively assisting in recruiting, supporting and training candidates for Missouri legislative and senatorial districts that include Greene County, Missouri state-wide office candidates, and Missouri U.S. Senatorial and 7th District Congressional candidates.   

3.      Responsible for raising funds in support of the GCDCC

4.      Implements various strategies, initiatives, or projects of the Chair of the GCDCC.

5.      Initiates and coordinates media releases and public appearances.

6.      Communicates and networks with the State Democratic Party, Democratic candidates and various community groups such as Democratic organizations, labor unions, civic groups, minority organizations, neighborhood associations, issue groups, etc.

7.      Maintains web site and social network sites.

8.      Maintains and updates voter and donor databases.

9.      Manages the day-to-day operations of the GCDCC headquarters.

10.   Recruits and supervises volunteers at headquarters.

11.     Responsible for the upkeep and use of office equipment.

12.    Reports to the GCDCC periodically as to the progress of strategic plans

 

Job Requirements:

1.        Ability to apply basic principles of supervision.

2.      Ability to communicate well both written and orally.

3.      Knowledge of and ability to apply techniques of fundraising.

4.      Ability to operate and understand computers and other office equipment.

5.      Knowledge of how to conduct political campaigns.

6.      Ability to work long hours and weekends if needed.

7.      Have a valid Missouri driver's license and reliable transportation. 

 

A 40-hour workweek is considered the norm under terms for employment; some weeks (especially during election cycles) will require more hours, some will require less.  The current structure provides flexible hours to attend evening and weekend work-related functions.   

General Office Hours:  9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  Monday – Friday / By Appointment After Hours
