Director of Scheduling and Advance
The Deval For All campaign is seeking a Director of Scheduling and Advance who is passionate about sharing the campaign's vision, works well in fast-paced environments, and can effectively communicate within our team and across departments.
As part of our team, you will be working closely with the principal, campaign team, organizers, volunteers, media outlets, and elected officials to support the political goals of the campaign. In this role you will provide a wide range of support to the principal travel team and state operations and organizing teams to ensure that all aspects of a principal visit are executed to perfection. You will be a conduit for communication to HQ and a central point of contact for the road team's questions and needs. Additionally, they will be responsible for maintaining the trip's budget as well as handling contracting and paperwork for any venues, vendors, or other matters that may come up.
We work to highlight the campaign's message, elevate and amplify stories of everyday Americans, and provide support to our teams across the country.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Conceptualize and implement site logistics, visual designs, and vendor builds
Liaise with venue hosts, production vendors, and other campaign staff to coordinate event and trip logistics
Train and manage volunteer teams to ensure efficiency of program, press, crowd, and security plans
Access the department leadership to address problems quickly providing contexts and recommended solutions
Organize, support, book, and record all travel logistics (flights, trains, hotels) for principal candidate, support staff, family, and surrogates
Create logistic trackers for staff trips
Update events and transportation trackers, organize external trip documents
Coordinate and manage campaign relationships with travel partners
Access trip documents from partner departments
Coordinate with travel team to provide updated materials directly to the principal and senior staff
Communicating clear priorities, needs, and expectations up and down the chain, and implementing communication structures with staff and their volunteers
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Goals-oriented and self-disciplined; able to meet tight deadlines and multitask
Able to respond quickly to travel issues and willing to call vendors to problem solve rapidly
Can think on your feet and change even the best laid plans at a moment's notice
Willing to learn campaign technology
Ability to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends
A valid driver's license and reliable motor vehicle
Previous campaign experience or experience working with volunteers is preferred
Be willing to dive in with a no-task-is-too-small attitude
Work well under pressure and can maintain confidentiality in all that you do
Are a driven problem solver who simply gets things done in a fast-paced environment
