DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Position: Director of Operations
Location: Chicago, IL
Full-service Democratic media firm is looking for a Director of Operations to work on political and issue advocacy campaigns.
The Director of Operations will work with our firm's partners and staff to manage video and audio production, coordinate resources and scheduling, and ensure everything from billing to archiving runs smoothly. This is an ideal position for someone who wants to have an immediate impact at a small business with a collaborative team environment. Major Responsibilities include:
Overseeing the production calendar and sub vendor resources for all firm clients
Establishing and managing relationships with vendors
Collecting vendor invoices, tracking production spending, generating invoices for clients, and working with the firm bookkeeper to pay all vendor invoices
Managing and evaluating the firm's subscriptions, accounts, and software with an eye toward improved workflow and cost effectiveness
Preparing materials for new client development including research memos, interactive presentations, and demo reels
Improving the firm's processes and procedures to enhance workflow
Fostering a positive company culture, organizing company outings and retreats
Overseeing general office management by ordering office supplies, scheduling and running firm meetings, and supporting technology needs
Managing the hiring, onboarding, and offboarding of staff members as needed, and acting as the in-office reference for questions about company policies
Assisting with production work as needed, specifically element searching and proofing spots
Qualifications & Experience
Qualified applicants will have at least a Bachelor's degree, as well as experience on political campaigns or political consulting in operations-focused roles. Direct political campaign experience is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will also possess the following:

Strong organizational and time-management skills
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Strong worth ethic and willingness to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends
The ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines
An eagerness to learn
Track record of work performed with the highest standards of quality and excellence
Superior proficiency in standard office technologies and software, such as Excel, Powerpoint, Google docs, and Adobe Acrobat
Experience with Quickbooks and expense reporting software
