Finance Director - Mary Washington for Mayor

The People United to Elect Mary Washington campaign seeks a dynamic and dedicated Finance Director to join the team. Based in Baltimore, the Finance Director will be in charge of a team of staff, interns, and volunteers. The ideal candidate will be able to dive in and build on the already successful fundraising capacities in place.

Mary Washington, PhD is a sitting state senator and is running for Mayor. She is campaigning on a record of transparency, progressive accomplishments, and a clear vision for a better Baltimore for everyone. This is a historic campaign to elect the first African American member of the LGBTQ community to the mayor's office. Mary is in a crowded primary which ends on April 28th, 2020, and needs a great fundraising professional to manage the team!

Duties & Scope

  • Working with the candidate, senior staff, and consultants, craft and execute a strategic fundraising plan with measurable goals and benchmarks

  • Travel throughout the region, as needed, to reach fundraising goals

  • Oversee fundraising events from formation to execution with assistance from finance team and volunteers

  • Hire and manage a finance team of paid staff, interns, and volunteers

  • Work closely with compliance staff and consultants

  • Oversee Call Time Manager in their duties to manage a successful program and support fundraising events as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 2+ campaign cycles with increasing leadership roles and responsibilities related directly to candidate fundraising

  • Experience crafting a finance plan including major donor, PAC, digital, call-time, event, and direct mail fundraising

  • Staff management experience

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Docs, ActBlue, and NGP is a must

  • Baltimore ties are a plus, but not required

  • Event planning experience

  • Email and digital fundraising experience

  • Exemplary time management and organizational skills

  • Ability and desire to work extensive hours and over weekends

  • A sense of humor and purpose is required

  • Ability to start ASAP

  • $5,000 per month
