Organizing Together 2020 is a coalition of organizations, organizers and activists working together to advance progressive issues and defeat President Trump. Organizing Together 2020 is a federal independent campaign that will build community based, volunteer driven, issue and electoral organizational capacity for the general election campaign. Organizing Together 2020 will organize early to build a robust organization ready to fully support a nominee for the general election. Organizing Together 2020 is hiring for a full-time Political Director to join our Florida
team. The Florida Political Director will report to the State Director and work to support the implementation of all aspects of the Organizing 2020 program while assisting the State Director with stakeholder outreach.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing relationships and escalating engagement of ally organizations and priority stakeholders
- Responsible for building new partnerships with target organizations and managing the expansion of the target organization list
- Managing engagement between ally organizations and our field program
- Ensure strong communication and coordination between departments
- Assist with day to day management, including the scheduling and execution of meetings and calls with staff and stakeholders
- Ensure that national reports are compiled accurately and completely on schedule
- Assist in the hiring and expansion of all program staff and operations
- Ensure that programmatic benchmarks are met on time
- Perform check-ins as-needed with department heads at the direction of the State Director
Requirements
- Three to five cycles of programmatic and staff management experience is preferred, including experience managing managers.
- Experience on a presidential campaign is preferred but not required
- Willingness to manage a diverse team with different experiences and perspectives, and a commitment to helping them grow and succeed
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a high pressure environment, and meet tight timelines
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment
- Dedicated to working for Democratic candidates and cause.
