Free Press is hiring. Our #NewsVoices journalism program is expanding into Colorado and Philadelphia, working to reimagine how local journalism serves our communities.
The 2-year Colorado position focuses on engaging state residents, community leaders, and journalists to work collectively to envision, strengthen, and transform local news.
The 3-year Philly position, focuses on a collaborative project that aims to replace prevailing media narratives of the criminal legal system with complex stories about trauma, safety, crime and criminal justice. This ambitious new project will reimagine and reinvent the way newsrooms approach crime reporting to better center the needs and perspectives of Philadelphia's communities.
The typical starting salary for a manager at Free Press is $55,000–65,000. Starting salaries are negotiated based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
