Movement School is seeking a Campus Coordinator for our new Movement School Campus initiative. This will be an online learning community for progressive electoral organizers, with the goals of: providing professional development, job opportunities, and a communal space for progressive organizers leading on 2020 campaigns; disseminating organizing best practices & progressive messaging to the broader public; and creating a fertile ground for new movement work that bridges electoral organizing with issue- and community-based organizing. We will be running intensive certificate programs, all based around the digital infrastructure in place from our Movement School Campaigns Fellows program. Movement School is a project of Organize for Justice, the 501c4 sister organization of Justice Democrats.
The Campus Coordinator will play a critical role in this initiative, together with the rest of the Movement School team.
Role
Manage participation in certificate programs, from enrollment to completion
Support mentors & instructors in managing their certificate programs
Support Campus members to organize their own community events
Help deal with any issues or conflicts that arise
Help engage the broader public with our events through social media
Help manage relationships with partner organizations and vendors
Help develop new certificate programs
Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience in electoral organizing or a related field
Extremely comfortable working in online community spaces, and building relationships at distance
Proficiency with Slack, Zoom, Airtable, and GSuite.
Comfortable working independently and taking initiative to solve problems
Detail oriented and self-organized
Enthusiasm for helping others learn! And for building political power.
This is a consultant role on a six-month contract. The compensation is $5,500 dollars per month. The role is entirely remote.
