Lauren Underwood for Congress is seeking a Digital Director for the 2020 election cycle. The Digital Director should possess a command of digital strategy and best practices. The ideal candidate will bring creative thinking, an innovative spirit, and an eagerness to push the envelope and constantly improve our digital program. You will be responsible for all digital content in support of the Congresswoman's re-election and related political activities.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and execute the campaign's digital program, with specific emphasis on a robust email and SMS fundraising program and a strategic and innovative social media program
Grow and manage the campaign's grassroots online fundraising audiences
Oversee content creation and deployment for online channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube with the goal of promoting the Congresswoman's profile both in-district and nationally as well as her affiliated political organizations
Manage digital multimedia projects including graphic design, video production, website development, and copywriting
Providing guidance and support on the campaign's digital programs including fundraising and digital organizing as well as other special projects as they arise
Reports to the Campaign Manager
Applicant Must Have:
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple complex projects
Experience managing successful online fundraising operations for Democratic political campaigns, political committees, and/or allied organizations
Ability to recognize and leverage a great moment to advance the goals of the campaign
Demonstrable understanding of how to build digital campaigns that motivate people to take meaningful action
Strong organizational skills and attention to consistency and detail
Extraordinary written and verbal communications skills
Proven familiarity with political and digital best practices
Familiarity with tracking performance and analytics for optimizing and reporting
Demonstrated interest and commitment to master emerging technologies
Proficiency with ActBlue and email CRMs (NGP 8) as well as Adobe Creative Suite, particularly the Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro programs
Willingness to work extensive hours, including nights and weekends
Strong commitment to progressive values and the campaign's core values (described below)
Applicants will be considered more competitive if they have:
Past experience managing staff or interns
Familiarity managing online advertising platforms such as Google, Facebook, and others
Experience writing fundraising email, direct to camera scripts, online ad copy, and social media content
Experience creating and reviewing timely and inspiring digital content calendars
Proficiency in HTML coding, graphic design, website design, video editing, etc.
Proficiency in Google docs and Microsoft Office
Background or experience working with Frontline or Red to Blue candidates or members
