The Center for Popular Democracy/CPD Action is seeking a full-time Worker Justice Digital Organizer for a limited-term duration of 9 months.

The Center for Popular Democracy and CPD Action (together, CPD/A) work to promote equity, opportunity, and a dynamic democracy in partnership with innovative base-building organizations, organizing networks and alliances, and progressive unions across the country. We currently work with more than 45 partner organizations in more than 38 states, Puerto Rico, and D.C., and build the strength and capacity of democratic organizations to envision and advance a pro-worker, pro-immigrant, racial and economic justice agenda. We are a rapidly-expanding, changing organization that partners with organizations across the country to build political power and win tangible victories that improve the lives of low-wage workers, immigrants, and communities of color.


About the Position

The Center for Popular Democracy/CPD Action (CPD/CPDA) is seeking a full-time digital organizer to unite working families in demands for a just economic recovery, with a primary focus on unemployed workers. The person in this role will develop and execute high-impact and game-changing digital strategies that empower our members to achieve concrete victories such as expansion of unemployment insurance and essential worker protections while building power for a recovery that prioritizes working people over Wall Street.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a digital organizing strategy that advances campaign goals and builds our base of supporters;

  • Reach out to potential supporters online, engaging them in organizing conversations and developing their leadership;

  • Develop engaging social media content and compelling emails, petitions, and stories;

  • Engage members to create and upload video content, and edit and curate the content to build a powerful narrative;

  • Support a robust membership donor program that builds power and sustainability for long-term organizing; 

  • Build a strong storybank and work with our communications team to elevate the voices of unemployed and essential workers;

  • Manage email program, generating high-quality emails that inspire action;

  • Use analytics to improve our messaging, programs and campaign to strengthen impact;

  • Provide coaching and technical assistance to CPD affiliates including through a cohort of digital organizers who are engaging unemployed workers.

Job Requirements 

  • At least 3 years of organizing and digital campaigning experience; 

  • A commitment to social, racial and economic justice and an understanding of the challenges facing low-wage workers, immigrant communities, and communities of color;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;

  • Problem-solving perspective and ability to work well in teams;

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships of trust and mutual respect with broad range of people;

  • Attention to detail and strong project-management skills.

 Salary and Benefits

This is a limited-term union position with a duration of 9 months. Salary will be determined according to a salary scale which takes into account years' experience, location, job category, and other factors, but is expected to be at an annual salary rate of $65,000-$75,000 and Category 2. The Collective Bargaining Agreement is available here.

We have a generous benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 15 vacation days per year, 10 sick days per year, 13 paid holidays per year, and contributions to individuals' 401K plans.
