Job Title: Field Organizer
Location: Peoria, IL Area
JOB DESCRIPTION
Friends of Dave Koehler is seeking Field Organizers for a highly competitive IL State Senate race. Field Organizers are responsible for helping to execute the campaign's organizing plan in communities across the 46th District. This is a great opportunity for recent college graduates that are looking to get a start in politics. Field Organizers will report to the Field Director.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Participate in direct voter contact by making phone calls from a predictive dialer system
· Recruit, train, and manage volunteer leaders in assigned region to help build a large grassroots campaign to make phone calls to voters
· Recruit new volunteers to persuade and turnout contacts in their existing network
· Train, manage, and coach existing volunteers on how to persuade and turnout contacts in their existing network.
· Foster a culture of positivity, emotional intelligence, and support with volunteers at all times
· Help manage online organizing tools for volunteers use
· Maintain databases and do data entry when necessary
· Prepare call materials for volunteer activities when necessary
· Generate nightly and weekly organizing reports to track progress to goal
· Other duties as assigned and directed by campaign leadership
· DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Strong desire to re-elect Senator Koehler
· Must be a self-starter, and be able to work independently and as a part of a team
· A competitive spirit geared toward meeting and exceeding field goals
· Strong interpersonal skills
· An ability to always be professional, calm, and collected in all circumstances
· Ability to handle multiple projects at once
· Ability to meet short deadlines, while keeping long term objectives in mind
· Willingness to work irregular hours including nights and weekends
· Strong understanding of google drive/suite, Facebook, and phone Apps
· Strong interest in politics and government
· Experience working on a campaign preferred, but not required
This is a full time, temporary position until the November 2020 election. The position can include long and intense hours of work, including holidays and weekends. Field Organizers must be willing to travel within the district for events and must have a Lap Top, phone, valid driver's license, auto insurance and a vehicle in good working condition.
