2020 Field Organizer Opportunity for Michigan's 11th Congressional District

Michigan's 11th Congressional District is a competitive frontline race for 2020. The district needs dedicated and enthusiastic applicants to join our Field Team as 2020 Field Organizers. Field Organizers will report to the MI-11 Field Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Recruit, retain, and train volunteers for persuasive phone banking and canvassing. Personally execute voter contact to meet campaign goals.

  • Build and maintain relationships with district allies and local activists through 1:1 meetings and neighborhood meetings. 

  • Execute an ambitious Get-Out-The-Vote program via phone, text, and door-to-door.

  • Compile and analyze voter responses using VAN to produce daily and weekly reports. Use data to track progress toward campaign goals.

  • Prepare and execute programming and events that accomplish campaign goals.

  • Manage interns and fellows according to campaign priorities. 

  • Fulfill other campaign duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Commitment to the election of Democrats up and down the ballot. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Self-motivation, the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends. Availability through November 2020 preferred.

  • Adaptable to changing needs and program priorities. Meets tight deadlines under pressure.

  • Campaign experience as an organizer, intern, fellow, or volunteer preferred.

  • Must be able to secure transportation to and from your assigned shifts. 

  • Knowledge of Voter Activation Network (VAN) is beneficial but not required. 

  • Positive Attitude Required.
