Would you like to spend the next 18 months working for one of Philadelphia's most dynamic Democratic leaders?
Rebecca Rhynhart shook the Philadelphia political establishment in 2017 when she unseated the Democratic incumbent in a primary, without any support from the establishment, to become Philadelphia's first female City Controller. As City Controller, Rebecca is committed to the efficient and effective operation of Philadelphia government. She is restoring the public's trust in government - good government - that works for the people by calling out waste and mismanagement, rooting out fraud, and fighting for the people of Philadelphia.
As Controller, Rebecca has:
- Fought for transparency in government
- Pushed the City to create a centralized unit to investigate sexual misconduct cases after auditing city government's sexual misconduct policies and procedures
- Investigated the procurement process for the City's new voting systems
- Reviewed the diversity of the City's exempt workforce, regularly and transparently releasing the data
- Audited every department, every year
Most recently, Rebecca boldly presented an alternative to the Mayor's budget that has all of Philadelphia taking a very close look at the best way to deal with our current health and financial crisis.
Rebecca has a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College. Born and raised in the Philadelphia region, Rebecca currently resides in Center City with her daughter and husband.
