[GAINPOWER.org: Jobs That Are Left] Policy Manager - Indivisible Project

The Policy Manager (PM) supports Indivisible's legislative advocacy by conducting policy and political analysis and high-level engagement with congressional staff and partners.

While this position will handle healthcare policy for Indivisible, and some knowledge of and expertise in healthcare policy is a significant plus, the Policy Manager will support the policy team on a wider range of policy issues, including structural democracy reform work and other issues moving in Congress.

The PM is responsible for drafting explainers and policy briefs for the issues in their portfolio, and develops legislative campaign strategy, in consultation with the Legislative Director and National Policy Director. A key aspect of this position is cultivating and managing relationships with partner organizations, especially those representing directly affected individuals, and participating in relevant coalitions.

The PM should also possess strong research skills, as the position will sometimes require rapid response writing as high-profile issues arise in the news and in Congress. Responsibilities for rapid response situations would include identifying ideologically-aligned organizations from which to draw analysis; drafting public-facing materials with the help of other department members, and joining partner calls as necessary to track developments. This position also requires providing local Indivisible groups with information and support to empower them to do advocacy on these issues. The PM reports to the Legislative Director and assists in ongoing planning for the department.

This is a full-time position, based in DC, with a starting salary range of $58,500, commensurate with experience. Indivisible provides a robust benefits package including full medical / dental/ vision/ life coverage, a discounted gym membership, and an employer matched 401 (k) plan.

Please apply by submitting a resume and cover letter by July 14, 2020.
