About the Digital Organizer

WFP is building a national mass base working class party. We're investing in building the base our country needs. WFP Organizers are part of a cadre of skilled organizers that help us build membership and elect transformative leaders to office. WFP is seeking a Digital Organizer who can engage, mobilize and activate WFP members, allies and activists to advance our strategic goals.This person will build independent, progressive political power through developing, leading and executing organizing drives and campaigns that build our base and elect progressive women and people of color to office.

Location

This job will require some travel. In the immediate future we plan to run campaigns in Georgia and South Carolina and as such people with previous experience or roots in those states (or in the Southeast) are strongly encouraged to apply. However, that is not a requirement.

Employment Term

This position is full-time salaried position.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with team on strategic goals and in support of WFP initiatives and candidates in the Southeast
  • Build digital and grassroots support for WFP's women of color and electoral programs by organizing and managing online and volunteer voter outreach operations, engaging  members of affiliated organizations, and organizing digital round tables
  • Maintain a rigorous schedule of relational meetings to develop relationships with labor and community based organizations in specific geographies, especially those supporting the leadership of womxn of color and non-binary & gender nonconforming people in the Southeast
  • Create compelling digital campaigns that tell the story of WFP's progressive, bold, womxn of color leaders in the southeast
  • Ensure tracking of supporters and members and their leadership development in CRM/database, and build a team of volunteers capable of doing this in the future
  • Amplify the electoral work of our field organizers, volunteers, communications team, stakeholders, and principals via online and offline engagement strategies.
  • Produce creative content for WFP's social networking sites
  • Assist in the execution of rapid response social media
  • Recommend and initiate new technologies & improvements to our work
  • Work closely with WFP organizers and endorsed campaigns
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Constantly connect and build our regional supporter base through organic social media, texting, calling, and other avenues including: volunteer referral, reaching out to relevant online communities of progressives, blog posts, emails, or p2p texts to volunteer lists.
  • Experiment with engagement strategies to reach out to voters, potential WFP supporters and current volunteers, move them up the WFP ladder of engagement, and deepen their leadership.
  • Track the actions of WFP'ers and their leadership development in EveryAction and Mobilize.us moving them to support priority issues and candidates

 Requirements

  • A sincere passion and commitment to supporting womxn of color leadership in the south
  • A sincere passion and commitment to fighting for social, economic, and racial justice and building power for working people
  • Preferred: 3 to 5 years' (or more) experience in digital organizing and storytelling.
  • Experience working in both electoral and issue campaigns that advance the progressive movement
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills;
  • A willingness to learn, the ability to work hard with irregular hours, and the ability to work independently with guidance as well as within a team.
  • Proven organizing ability, and effectiveness engaging potential activists, supporters, institutional leaders and current and prospective elected officials.

Salary

The position is full-time and remotely based anywhere in the United States with a preference to those residing in Georgia and South Carolina. When safe to travel, regional travel throughout the region will be required. Salary for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 based on experience.  A competitive benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and life insurances, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays, and unlimited paid time off.
