About the Social Media Coordinator
The Working Families Party is looking for a creative, dynamic, resourceful Social Media Coordinator to engage our growing base of online supporters across social media channels. The Social Media Coordinator will have a unique opportunity to put their knowledge and talents to use guiding our organic social media strategy, growing and engaging our supporter base, and helping to win progressive victories in exciting campaigns across the country. This position will be a key member of the Working Families Party's National Digital-Communications Team and will report to the National Digital Director, while working closely with leaders and staff across departments.

Responsibilities
- Work with other members of Digital-Communications team to create and implement a national social media strategy.
- Coordinate content calendar across Working Families Party's social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, collaborating with other team members.
- Pitch and produce rapid response social media content as needed.
- Report regularly on social media engagement to establish consistent benchmarks and provide analysis with the objective of expanding WFP's audiences.
- Monitor engagement and inboxes across channels in order to respond to supporters, capitalize on opportunities, and build resilient audiences.
- Provide social media support and trainings for WFP staff and organizers across the country.
- Develop social toolkits for use across the organization and with influencers, allies, and partners.
- Identify and take advantage of opportunities for engagement through Facebook groups, Twitter lists, and other private channels.
- Identify other new social media platforms where the Working Families Party can engage new audiences and which would lead to organizational growth.
Requirements
- Demonstrated understanding of organizational use of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, including a firm grasp of best practices as they relate to organic content and the platforms' respective algorithms.
- Ability to communicate compellingly and creatively, both visually and through the written language, in response to breaking news, current events, and pop culture, with a political lens that includes the intersection of race, gender, and class.
- At least 1 year or cycle of experience managing the social media program of an organization or campaign, preferably in a political or advocacy setting.
- Demonstrated graphic design skills (Canva, Photoshop)
- Familiarity with social media metrics and the ability to analyze data and draw conclusions about engagement and performance, and suggest improvements in strategy for reach and growth.
- Ability to plan and manage complex projects, meet deadlines, communicate with teammates, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Commitment to a progressive vision of racial, social and economic justice issues and deep understanding of how all of these issues intersect.
- Innate skill to find the perfect GIF to describe you or your coworkers' feelings at any given moment.
Preferred (but not required) skills
- Ability to conceptualize, edit, and produce short videos optimized for social media
- Video production skills, including production of livestreams.
- Experience with Adobe suite, including Photoshop.
- Experience with CRMs such as Action Network, Every Action, Blue State Digital, or Action Kit.
- Experience in website design or development.
- Experience with YouTube or additional social media platforms.
- Fluency in Spanish.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000 and will be adjusted based on an internal equitable scale that takes into consideration years of experience, geographic location, and final job description. We also offer a competitive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance and matching contributions into a 401(k) retirement plan, plus paid holidays, sick time, and unlimited vacation.
