The SEIU Colorado Independent Expenditure Team is accepting applications for our 2020 Field Organizer positions. Colorado is a top-tier state that is a must-win to gain the majority in the U.S. Senate, grow the majority in the Colorado Legislature, and stop Trump from being elected to a second term. 

 

Field Organizers are the face of the campaign in their communities and are responsible for building and empowering the volunteer infrastructure that will mobilize voters to turn out a pro-worker victory in November. These are temporary positions, lasting through Tuesday, November 10th, 2020.


While training and onboarding will be provided, and experience is not required, we are interested in applicants who have some of the following skills, abilities, and experience:


  • Knowledge and/or experience working with community-based organizations (including neighborhood, religious, and civic organizations) and willingness to do outreach to community groups and leaders.

  • Experience with voter contact databases [i.e. VAN]

  • Ability to implement field plans and operate autonomously in the field.

  • Cycles of political campaign or other relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of unions and issues that affect working people.

  • Knowledge of voter contact and voter protection work.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

POSITION TITLE: SEIU Colorado Blue Team Field Organizer

REPORTING TO: SEIU Colorado Blue Team Field Director

LOCATION: The SEIU office is located at 2525 W Alameda Ave, Denver, CO 80219. Onboarding and training will take place at the office, with most of the work taking place remotely. Laptops, cell phones, and hot spots will be provided. 

STARTING DATES: Monday, August 17th, 2020

ENDING DATE: Tuesday, November 10th, 2020

COMPENSATION: $3,250 a month, paid bi-weekly, with a $500 a month stipend for health insurance. 

 

The SEIU Colorado Blue Team Field Organizer duties include:

§  Recruiting, training, and managing volunteers

§  Planning and executing regular voter contact and volunteer recruitment 

§  Cultivating volunteer leaders and providing them with ongoing training

§  Meeting strict weekly voter contact goals 

§  Meeting daily reporting and data entry deadlines

§  Developing relationships with political stakeholders, allied organizations, and local Democratic committees

§  Other duties as assigned

 

The SEIU Colorado Independent Expenditure Team Field Organizers must also be self-motivated and outgoing, with strong verbal and writing skills.  They must be able to keep composure in a stressful environment and possess the ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects and meet deadlines under pressure. They must have a desire to learn on the job and meet any challenge with a positive attitude with the ability to hold yourself and others accountable for reaching goals.


As an independent expenditure, the Field Organizers are prohibited from coordinating and/or contacting candidates and their campaigns. 

 

Applicants must have reliable transportation. Relocation costs are not covered by SEIU.
