Martín Miguel Fernandez is running for DC Council in Ward 2 and seeks a Deputy Campaign Manager to help guide his campaign to victory in November. The Deputy Campaign Manager will be responsible for managing the field, and voter outreach operations of the campaign, with special attention to digital and remote strategies and minority voter engagement. You may also be asked to work in other arenas of the campaign like fundraising, but your main responsibility with be field.
Job Responsibilities
● Coach, train, and mentor a team of Field Organizers on effective volunteer management, data entry, and effective campaign strategies including but not limited to recruitment, door-to-door canvassing (Virtual), cutting turf, digital canvassing, and other successful field tactics
● Produce regular field data reports for Senior Consultant/Political Director
● Build daily/weekly phone banks and text banks
● Develop a field plan for the general election, covering staffing timelines, win numbers,voter contact goals, trainings, and ballot chasing
● Oversee all aspects of direct voter contact: canvassing, phone banking, text banking for persuasion, and turnout efforts, with special attention to digital outreach in light of the COVID-19 pandemic
● Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with local party leaders and activist groups
Preferred Qualifications
● A passion for electing Progressives up and down the ballot
● Minimum of one cycle of field experience with demonstrated results
● Expertise with Votebuilder, MobilizeAmerica, and Hustle, among other applications
● At least one cycle of field organizing (volunteer recruitment, phone banking, door knocking, etc.)
● Experience managing at least three employees/organizers
● Strong oral and written communication skills
Deep understanding of campaign finance tools including NGP, ActBlue and Excel
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
Experience with call a time-driven finance program a plus
Experience managing staff a plus
Experience running a dialer and double dialing a plus
● Extremely organized and detail-oriented, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and tight deadlines
● Sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities
● Demonstrated experience/success in minority voter outreach and community organizing and outreach, politics or equivalent, especially for candidate campaigns
● Preferred residence in the District of Columbia with access to a vehicle. Bonus points if in Ward 2 already.
Compensation
● $2,500-$4,000 month depending on experience
