[GAINPOWER.org: Jobs That Are Left] Field Organizer 🥳with Dan O'Neil (MI-104)

Dan O'Neil for State Representative: Field Organizer

Full-time through November 30, 2020

Dan O'Neil is the Democratic candidate for State Representative in Michigan's 104th District, a historically Republican-controlled district that spans Grand Traverse County. In 2018, Dan ran a strong, volunteer-led campaign to unseat incumbent and Republican Larry Inman – and lost by only 349 votes. In this 2020 cycle, Dan's campaign is widely considered Michigan's top-targeted race and the undisputed pathway to flipping Michigan's House.

Team O'Neil is seeking dedicated, passionate, and resourceful individuals to join its growing field team. Working collaboratively with the Field Director and team of Field Fellows, the Field Organizer will work to build and activate the necessary grassroots infrastructure to elect Dan O'Neil as State Representative in Michigan's 104th District.

Position Overview

The campaign embraces both innovative and traditional organizing tactics to consolidate support, mobilize volunteers, and maximize voter turnout in Grand Traverse County. Field Organizers will report directly to the campaign's Field Director to effectively implement grassroots organizing tactics and assist in executing the campaign's field program.  Broadly, the Field Organizer will be responsible for tasks including (but not limited to):
  • Meeting (virtually) with community members one-on-one to establish relationships and motivating them to take volunteer action with our organization

  • Meeting ambitious direct voter contact goals, both by building and training volunteer teams, and by participating in direct voter contact (DVC)

  • Executing DVC within the allowable parameters of COVID-19 to expand our campaign's voter and volunteer community network. DVC includes calling, texting, and digital canvassing, as well as in-person door-to-door activity in compliance with the campaign's strictly enforced social distancing guidelines

  • Spearheading campaign events planning and executing events

  • Contributing to smart, effective, and empowering Field Program strategies

This full-time position will extend through November 30, 2020, with competitive compensation ranging between $3,200 - $4,000 monthly.

Ideal candidates will have at least one cycle of campaign experience (or equivalent) and working fluency in VAN, MiniVAN, and other digital tools. We are looking for Field Organizers located in or near Grand Traverse County, Michigan.

Please send a resume and at least two references to lindseyelsbeth@gmail.com with the subject line "Application: Field Organizer - [Last Name, First Name]". (For example: "Application: Field Organizer - Corbett, Lindsey"). Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
