Every year, hundreds of thousands of down-ballot public offices go uncontested nationwide. Contest Every Race recruits regular people with good values to run for office in red and purple states, so we compete everywhere while building the Dem bench and helping get out the vote.
We're hiring a part time political researcher to search online and make phone calls to local election officials and school districts. This work is crucial to determine which races are up for election, how candidates can get their name on the ballot, and who of our recruited candidates have successfully filed to run for office.
This work is a great way to make a real difference in American politics from anywhere in the US. We're gaining traction and proving that our methods work, so our program is growing. We are a small, distributed team, led by people with high-level experience. We are focused on the long game.
As we gear up to expand our recruitment program in 2021, we need help researching tens of thousands of elections in Texas, Missouri, and Pennsylvania with filing deadlines starting as soon as December 2020.
You are naturally systematic in your approach, detail-oriented, have great online research skills, are comfortable with repetitive research-oriented work, have a positive, assertive, yet tactful phone manner, are driven toward efficiency, and you love making sure google sheets are filled out meticulously. Your attitude is to "get things done". And you have a passion for politics or for beating back racism and fascism.
Salary: $10.00/hr. Seeking a commitment through November 13th 2020.
