Overview
Promundo-US, an international non-governmental organization working to advance gender equality, prevent violence, and build healthy masculinity, seeks a part-time Digital Engagement Intern for 16 hours per week, January/February through June 2021 (with potential to extend). This position will be working remotely for at least part of the term due to COVID-19 restrictions. Though the internship is remote, Promundo-US is a DC-based employer. For tax purposes, you must have residence in DC, MD, or VA. This position will form part of Promundo's communications team and will report to Lona Manik, Digital Engagement and Content Assistant.

Job Responsibilities
We are looking for an organized, tech savvy, creative thinker, and excellent communicator to join Promundo as a Digital Engagement Intern as part of a dynamic communications team. Responsibilities include:
● Support Promundo's web redesign and 2021 relaunch by tracking and tagging our resource library; copyediting and updating content; and/or supporting the communications team as needed to ensure the relaunch is a success.
● Source and draft social media content (which may include creating graphics and messaging) to support Promundo's digital engagement goals.
● Complete ongoing and monthly tracking of Promundo's and our campaigns' reach and impact; and audit social media performance.
● Support the communications team as needed with department tasks (including copyediting, formatting, photo sourcing, and file organization).
● Support Promundo's online fundraising efforts, as needed, in collaboration with the business development team.
Required Skills and Experience
● Relevant experience and/or education (including in communications, public relations, UX design, web management, social media strategy, film and/or photo editing, international development, gender, public health, or related field preferred)
● Excellent English writing, editing, and proofreading skills
● Excellent attention to detail
● Proactive, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize well, with strong self- motivation
● Hard worker and quick learner
● Kind, empathetic, and a good listener
Desirable Qualifications
● Web management (WordPress or other CMS platform)
● Digital engagement strategy and/or implementation (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
● Communications analytics (Google Analytics, social media, and media/press analytics)
● Graphic design (Adobe Design Suite, such as InDesign and Photoshop)
● Second language skills (Spanish preferred; French and/or Arabic also useful)
● SEO strategy
● Photo or film editing
● Experience with social media management tools
● Digital fundraising strategy
● Data visualization
Compensation
● $15/hour, for up to 16 hours per week
Term
● January/February – June 30, 2021 (with potential to extend)
