[GAINPOWER.org: Jobs That Are Left] Manhattan Borough-wide race seeking Campaign Manager

Democratic candidate running for a borough-wide Manhattan office is seeking a qualified, highly motivated individual to fill the role of Campaign Manager to lead campaign efforts.

The Campaign Manager is responsible for the day-to-day execution of all departments of the campaign and will report directly to the candidate and consultants. Successful applicants will possess prior high level campaign experience. Campaign Manager or Department Director level experience is strongly preferred.  

Applicants for the position must possess strong organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Applicants should be willing to relocate as necessary. Applicants must possess a working laptop, and be willing to work extended hours and weekends.

Campaign Manager Responsibilities

  • Start-Up: Securing office space and essential infrastructure in consultation with campaign leadership, including the hiring of additional management staff as needed.
  • Program Administration: Driving the recruitment and training of campaign staff. Oversight of human resource processes, including employee hiring and onboarding. Managing campaign budgets and expenses. 
  • Management: Providing all staff with the positive leadership culture, resources, guidance and technical support required to succeed during each phase of the campaign. Ensuring the successful execution of campaign strategy as determined by the candidate and consulting team. 
  • Accountability: Ensuring  all employees maintain accurate and reliable data for all relevant facets of the program. Communicating all pertinent on-the-ground information and providing timely responses to requests from campaign leadership.    

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Skills: A strong commitment to progressive values. Deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Strong communication and organizational skills. An understanding and appreciation of the urgent nature and time demands of campaigns. 
  • Experience: High level campaign experience, such as Campaign Manager or Department Director experience is required. Familiarity with VAN and NGP, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs. Experience interfacing with candidates, vendors, consultants, and client organizations is a plus. 
  • Miscellaneous: Willingness to work long hours and weekends, ability to relocate as needed, working laptop.

Compensation and Application Submission

  • This position is salaried, full-time, short-term position

  • Salary: $5,000 - $8,000/ month commensurate with experience
