Job Description: Field Director, Ben Kallos for Manhattan Borough President
About Ben Kallos:
Councilmember Ben Kallos, running for Manhattan Borough President, is hiring a Field Director to manage a robust field program that will require volunteer and community engagement, data management, and running a rigorous internship program.
Ben Kallos, co-chair of the Progressive Caucus on the Council, has spent the last 7 years fighting for true reform in New York City. Ben's passion is to support his community and live his values, which is why he voted to defund the NYPD, and why he has fought to get corrupt money out of politics. As Borough President, Ben will fight to make Manhattan a borough that is truly affordable, advances racial justice, promotes sustainability, and supports working people and their families.
Qualifications:
At least 2 cycles of field experience on campaigns
Proficiency in using VAN/Votebuilder
Experience managing volunteers and hiring interns
Positive attitude and passion for local politics
Ability to live in NYC, preferably Manhattan or with reasonable access to the Borough
Willing and ready to work nights and weekends
Responsibilities:
Candidates for this full time staff position should have progressive values and be invested in fighting for a better borough. Applicants should be committed to electing a progressive leader as Manhattan Borough President. Tasks may include but will not be limited to:
Community & Political Relations: coordinating with local Democratic clubs and community leaders, tracking endorsement processes
Petitions: Bottom-lining the petitions process, and managing the team to collect signatures
Volunteer Engagement: Recruiting and engaging supporters to volunteer for the campaign
Voter Outreach: Creating and implementing a plan for successful voter engagement
Data Management: Systematically collecting, organizing and analyzing field data
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary range for this position is $4,000 - $6,000 per month depending on experience level, with healthcare stipend in addition
This is a full-time position and will report directly to the Campaign Manager
