On behalf of several leading environmental advocacy organizations, the Partnership Project is hiring a Campaign Manager for the Methane Partners Campaign (MPC). This role will be in service of a diverse coalition of climate, environmental justice, and public health organizations and allies that are currently engaged in protecting our health and environment by curbing the climate super pollutant methane from oil and gas operations (see: https://cutmethane.org). The position is designed to assist the MPC's coordinated efforts that combine work on policy, legal challenges, strategic communications and advocacy by dozens of grassroots organizations across the United States.
This position will directly support the MPC Steering Committee and work closely with groups,
consultants, and vendors in support of MPC issue campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assisting Steering Committee members with development and implementation of a campaign strategy that builds the political space, urgency, and need for action including communications, organizing, and lobbying tactics.
● Preparing for and facilitating MPC meetings including:
○ Weekly member and working group meetings
○ Monthly steering committee meetings
● Working with the MPC Steering Committee and stakeholders to submit grants and pitch funders.
● Working with legal, communications, and policy teams to ensure messages to the Hill, the media, and partners reflect the strategic needs of the campaign.
● Collaborating 1:1 with partners ahead of meetings to smooth potential points of disagreement or help to build out potential points of work.
● Reviewing daily clips for opportunities to amplify stories or push back on negative narratives.
● Interfacing with MPC partner groups to develop activities that support core message themes and agreed-upon strategy.
● Managing Communications and Research consultants.
● Managing MPC Budget.
● Managing coalition membership.
● Performing other duties as assigned
Attributes/Experience:
● 5+ years of experience in managing campaigns, coalitions, or strategic communications projects.
● Able to successfully juggle multiple, complex projects under tight deadlines
● Strong grasp of methane related policy issues
● Experience managing vendors
● Familiarity and experience with the national environmental community or coalition management
● Self-motivated and well organized
● Sense of humor a plus
The target starting salary for this position is $90,000 to $110,000, depending on experience. We offer an excellent benefits package which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous paid time off, and a 401k plan.
