The People's Bailout is looking for a Senior Digital Strategist to join our remote team. The Senior Digital Strategist will collaborate with the Campaign Director and core team to apply pressure on Congress to prioritize the needs (immediate and long term) of frontline communities, workers and the planet above corporate executives and financial institutions. This position is fully remote and applicants from all states are welcome to apply.
We are looking for someone who can plan and execute a digital strategy to move our narrative along and bring more people into the fight. We hope to hire a Senior Digital Strategist that can drive a compelling program that leverages The People's Bailout brand to uplift partner efforts as well as our own, and drive narrative and advocacy campaigns that advance the 5 Principles of Just COVID-19 Relief & Stimulus and contribute to securing concrete victories for people and communities. This role executes digital communications in collaboration with the Campaign Director of People's Bailout and under the guidance of the Core Team (representatives of the 7 anchor organizations of the project).
Responsibilities:
- Create and strategize – Develop a comprehensive digital marketing strategy to generate traffic and convert leads from all online properties. Lead, develop and manage the digital aspect of the narrative campaign, content calendar, event calendar and advertisements. Manage social media accounts and create ways to generate high website traffic, stronger brand awareness, and new opportunities. Coordinate with the Campaign Director to develop and execute a digital strategy plan to win the federal legislative victories of a people centered relief/ stimulus package in 2021 including websites, social media, email platforms.
- Outreach - Craft regular & ongoing communication with the lists (organizational and individual) through Action Network and social media (FB, Twitter, etc.); manage the ladder of engagement (petitions, follow up, list building).Engage with press and media partners to platform narrative stories.
- Measure – Report on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns and compare to the goals required. Conduct testing on digital marketing strategies to ensure success.
- Optimize and iterate – Strategize company brand and market effectiveness by developing goals both short and long-term. Conduct SEO optimization. Attend bi-weekly campaign meetings with core team to strategize. Quantify engagement.
- Coalition Work - Explore initiating large scale virtual engagement/ messaging events and collaborating on events with coalition partners. Partner with the Campaign Director to execute the digital strategy of large events.
Requirements:
- Someone with at least 5 years of experience building digital campaigns, organizing, coalition work and movement work.
- Remote position that can be based in any state (though bi-weekly core team meetings occur at 9am EST).
- Excellent understanding and analysis of political moment and national political landscape and relation to community-based and advocacy groups.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends), including communicating with allies in other parts of the world in different time zones.
- Advanced working knowledge of Squarespace, Action Network, Spoke, Monday, GSuite, CRM software, social media platforms, analytics and scheduling software.
About The People's Bailout
The People's Bailout was designed as a narrative intervention meant to apply pressure on Congress to prioritize the needs (immediate and long term) of frontline communities, workers and the planet above corporate executives and financial institutions. After gaining considerable traction and pulling off a number of events and legislative wins in 2020, the next four months include a campaign around the first 100 days of the Biden administration and a need to push the next federal relief / stimulus package for even bigger asks than ever before including $2,000 recurring cash payments, a pathway to citizenship for essential workers, rent and debt cancellation, an extension and expansion of unemployment benefits, healthcare for all and a public health jobs corps to ensure that the masses are vaccinated.
Time Period:
We expect this position to be full-time equivalency for 4 months (February to May).
Salary:
This contract is for $8,500 monthly for four months (from February 2021 to May 2021). No other benefits are included at this time.
