Job Summary: The PFLAG Connects Virtual Meetings Manager will be responsible for leading the development, growth, and maintenance of the PFLAG Connects System. This individual will ensure that chapters have access to and training for PFLAG Connects usage; develop and implement chapter-ready programming that can be conducted on PFLAG Connects by chapter members; provide day-to-day support for chapters wishing to engage in more online community-building; and manage the development and administration of virtual community meetings using PFLAG Connects to create space for non-geographic gatherings based on shared characteristics (e.g., Latinx support). 

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day management of PFLAG Connects to ensure that the PFLAG Chapter Network has access to and information for using PFLAG's Zoom account in order to deliver online services.
  • Develop resources to ensure that users have the most up-to-date information to use Zoom safely and securely.
  • Create materials so that PFLAG chapters can offer education and advocacy programs using the PFLAG Connects system.
  • Monitor PFLAG Chapter Network use of the system and identify chapters doing best-in-class work in the system and develop vehicles to share this information for greater peer learning in the network.
  • Organize and manage committees of high-level volunteers to advise and participate in virtual affinity groups.
  • Develop, manage and oversee virtual communities inside the PFLAG Connects system (e.g., race/ethnicity-based groups and non-geographical chapters).
  • Create content for the PFLAG Connects weekly e-newsletter.
  • Organize and manage quarterly PFLAG Connects meetings with the Executive Director and the chapter network.
  • Engage with PFLAG chapter members in Facebook groups run by PFLAG Chapters to encourage conversation with PFLAG National, and create a flow from those groups to PFLAG Connects meetings.
  • Work in collaboration with multiple departments within PFLAG. 
  • Perform other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Chapter Engagement
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in field organizing
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • 2+ years of professional experience in community based, grassroots organizing, electoral campaign and/or legislative staff experience
  • 2+ years of professional experience in online or digital community organizing, including creating and monitoring Facebook groups, using the tool's full functionality.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills
  • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends
  • Comfort working with remote employees
  • Solid computer experience including the use of the internet, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Zoom and online meeting systems.
  • Experience with general office equipment, including network and desktop copiers, scanners, projectors, telephone systems, and video calls/meetings, among others
Desirable Skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work independently on a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of and experience with chapter-based, grassroots, membership organizations and/or extensive volunteer networks
  • Comfort working within and across organization teams 
  • Experience with Salesforce, Salsa Engage, and Drupal
  • Commitment to creative teamwork
  • Collegial working style
  • Experience working remotely
Salary and Benefits: Salary range is $66,000-$79,000, commensurate with education and experience. This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union, Local 2, AFL-CIO. PFLAG offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid medical, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, 403(b) with employer match and generous vacation.
