The 2020 cycle was historic for IMPACT — culminating in the election of Vice President Kamala Harris, a new Senate majority that AAPI voters in Georgia helped deliver, and several Indian American firsts in public offices across the country. As we look to 2022, IMPACT is poised for continued success in electing diverse candidates to public office, and further, serving as a national voice for Indian American and South Asian communities, and as an ally to other communities of color.
- Oversee brand management and communications for all of IMPACT's efforts
- Proactively create and execute strategies and tactics to grow IMPACT's reach across the country through digital and print media opportunities
- Identify opportunities to leverage and support IMPACT's endorsed slate of candidates running for office across the country by working with campaign press secretaries and staff
- Be responsible for drafting, finalizing and sending out IMPACT press releases, media advisories and responding to media inquires
- Daily management of all online needs for the organizations, including overseeing IMPACT's social media accounts, posts and visibility, web content, and other written work product
- In tandem with the Executive Director and across teams, work to meet communication goals and objectives within IMPACT's strategic plan
- Work in tandem with IMPACT's Development Team to promote the work of IMPACT to current, lapsed and prospective stakeholders across the country
- Supervise IMPACT's branding and collateral around IMPACT events, whether in-person or online
- Support IMPACT's Board of Directors by creating and offering individualized means to engage their own personal networks through online outreach
- Work with fellow staff members and consultants on a wide array of projects as assigned by the Executive Director, bringing a team-player spirit to this role
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director
Ideal Qualifications:
- 4+ years of campaign, advocacy, government, and/or non-profit experience
- Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
- A record of producing high-quality content for social media or other platforms
- Familiarity with editing platforms for social media images, videos, audio, or other content
- Proven ability to grow an organization's online footprint and to place organizations and issues in print media opportunities at the local, state and national level
- Demonstrated skill and passion for building political power in underrepresented communities
- Experience responding to media and press on behalf of an organization, including serving as a surrogate and spokesperson
- Demonstrated longevity in the workplace within previous positions and organizations that reflect a desire and dedication to a strong work-ethic, performance and success
- Familiarity with federal and state campaigns and non-profit advocacy
- A desire to grow as a professional through this experience with a collaborative and positive attitude
Salary & Benefits: The Communications & Digital Manager will be employed as a full-time position at IMPACT. The salary range for this position is $75,000-$90,000. Salary and compensation will be based on the candidate's experiences and qualifications. While the selected candidate can work remotely, IMPACT will be opening an office based in Philadelphia beginning in 2021.
