Are you the one who could take our media presence to the next level? We're looking for a passionate, energetic, and talented communications intern to help us engage our online community better. Your role will involve developing updates across networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
Candidates should have a major in one of the following areas: marketing, communications, social media and/or public relations. A stipend is possible and the internship is located at our headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities:
- Post social media on a routine ongoing basis
- Upgrade various social media sites, with new and better background information on all our pages
- Research hashtags across all our issues for tweeting
- Support social media for upcoming polling releases and major campaign actions
- Compile a list of who is tweeting on behalf of our more active members so we know to whom to send our "tweet sheets".
- Research which journalists to target for next round of cultivation
- Help research and develop stories to place as a feature about ASBC
- Assist with design and development of spec for "micro sites"
- Serve as liaison with ASBC policy team to integrate policy depth into ASBC social media
- Assist with review and update of current campaigns
- Assist public relations staff by attending DC press events, building awareness of ASBC
