Job Description:

Donor Development Strategies is seeking a compelling leader to assist directing the Wisconsin Public Television Field Office in Madison. Our new Director will work with the Project Manager for that region to implement a strategic field plan with specific fundraising goals in mind, build a talented team of canvassers, and manage all aspects of their office. 

This is an opportunity for a talented duo to work alongside our existing leadership teams to grow the WPT Field Office. Our staff work alongside one of America's oldest and most respected non-profits while developing a voice within a fast-paced and achieving company.


Job Responsibilities:

- Field Work: Canvass 1-3 times a week. Perform regular quality control field check-ins with staff members. Regularly provide in-field training for new staff, core staff and field managers.

- Recruitment: Build a team of 10-20 canvassers. Maintain proactive recruitment in order to meet and exceed goal for number of canvassers in the field week-to-week.

- Office Culture: Develop a positive and goal oriented culture in the office. Set expectations and manage performance of staff. Work to develop a strong leadership team.

- Client Communication: Provide professional, clear and concise communication with client as it relates to day-to-day operations.

- Administration: Provide documentation as it relates to staff management: hiring, firing and change in status. Track income and expenses. Conduct analysis of daily and weekly operations and draft routine reports.


Mandatory Qualifications:

- Track record of success with door-to-door and/or street fundraising

- Minimum 1 year management experience

- Excellent communication skills

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

- Comfortable with some irregular hours and occasional weekends

- Must have reliable transportation


Preferred Qualifications:

- Genuine enthusiasm for the PBS mission

- Eagerness to capture the mission of Wisconsin Public Television at the community level

- Willingness to take initiative and strong problem solving skills

- Familiarity with Madison

Compensation:

$32,500 - $36,500 commensurate with experience + weekly fundraising bonuses and competitive benefits package

*Director positions in Des Moines also available. Future positions are available in cities nationwide.*
