POSITION


At 270 Strategies, we know that effective leaders and strong teams are the key to success. We believe the best teams succeed when organizations invest in their development and support them via thoughtful, robust training programs. To that end, we are growing our team to include a Training and Development Associate who will focus on supporting the professional development of 270 Strategies staff.


The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter with excellent communication and design skills, a strong interest in training and development, and a belief that grassroots organizing can change the world. This position will be based in San Francisco, CA, Chicago, IL , or Washington DC, and might require some travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES


The Training and Development Associate will work closely with the training team to produce tools, templates, and trainings to support 270 Strategies staff across all departments and cohorts. He or she will play a critical role in ensuring that all of our staff have access to important resources to help them grow and succeed in their careers.


Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working with 270 staff across departments to update and build out the 270 Strategies training library
  • Researching and recommending external professional development opportunities for 270 Strategies staff
  • Assisting the Project Manager for internal training and development with planning and executing of new hire onboardings, staff retreats, and miscellaneous in-person trainings
  • Coordinating 270 Strategies webinar series, brown bag lunches, and other professional development initiatives

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS


The ideal candidate will display an avid interest in pursuing innovative training and development methods, and will have experience in both training and creative design. He or she should demonstrate excellent visual communication skills, and a keen interest in building tools tailored to adult learners. Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years professional experience. Graphic design experience preferred but not required.


Additionally, candidates should exhibit:

  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Knowledge of fundamental design principles
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Basic knowledge of grassroots organizing and campaigns
