The Public Interest Network is looking for an Arts & Entertainment Organizer. The arts,
music, and entertainment industry can be an incredible ally in creating social change,
using the "celebrity megaphone" to help win campaigns and build the profile of our
organization. The Arts & Entertainment Organizer will work with The Public Interest
Network staff to identify opportunities to engage members of the arts, music, and
entertainment community in such actions as campaign endorsements and sign-on letters;
news conferences, lobby days and fundraisers; and video projects like US PIRG's Mad
Fast Trains video with Mad Men stars Vincent Kartheiser and Rich Sommer
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R57ZwTquraE).
The Organizer will take on responsibility and oversight for all our entertainment
outreach, and will be responsible for recruiting and overseeing staff and volunteers.
For more than 40 years, organizations in The Public Interest Network have been taking
on powerful interests on behalf of the American public, working to win concrete results
for our health and well-being. With a strong staff across the country, we stand up to
powerful special interests on issues to promote clean air and water, protect open space,
stop identity theft, fight political corruption, stop the overuse of antibiotics on factory
farms, and strengthen voting rights. The Organizer will build media visibility and
promote our issues with the entertainment industry.
