JOB TITLE: Field Organizer
LOCATION: Baltimore, MD
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Field Organizer is responsible for helping to execute the campaign's organizing plan in communities across the city. You will recruit, train, and manage volunteer leaders in your assigned region or community to help build a large grassroots campaign. Your main focus will be volunteer recruitment and development and voter contact. This will be done both in regional offices and with neighborhood organizing teams.
This position falls within the Field Department. You will report to your Regional Field Director. Baltimore experience is a plus, but not required.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruit and train strong volunteer team leaders. You will work with your RFD to develop the skills of team leaders to be organizers themselves. You will help them with everything from phone banking, to data entry, to door knocking, to recruiting other volunteers. The goal is to organize yourself out of the job.
Ensure you are meeting your voter contact goals by recruiting volunteers for regular phone banks and neighborhood canvasses.
Maintain databases and do data entry when necessary.
Maintain records and give regular updates to your supervisor.
In conjunction with outreach coordinators, establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in your turf.
Other duties as needed and directed by campaign leadership.
Direct voter contact work in your assigned region.

Experience with community or political organizing

Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
Ability to meet short deadlines, while keeping long term objectives in mind.
Must be a self-starter, and be able to work independently and as a part of a team.
Willing to work irregular hours including nights and weekends.

This position is based in Baltimore, Maryland and candidate must be able to relocate to the area immediately. Salary range is $2,700 to $3,250 and commensurate with experience.
