Mission
The Nebraska Civic Engagement Table is a nonpartisan backbone organization whose mission is to strengthen the collective impact of and collaboration between nonprofit 501c3 community and advocacy organizations who serve underrepresented communities.

Our goal is to build an electorate that is representative of all Nebraskans - an electorate where everyone is able to participate in the democratic process and strengthen the impact of their voice in the policymaking decisions that affect their lives.
Job Summary
The Nebraska Civic Engagement Table ("Table") seeks a new full-time Field Director. Through effective collaboration with table members, the Field Director is responsible for working with nonprofit organizations on nonpartisan, year-round voter and civic engagement programs. The Field Director will primarily serve our member nonprofits on the ground in Nebraska and, as such, is responsible for cultivating relationships, training and supporting our members, which include nonprofit community, advocacy, and civic engagement organizations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to working with these organizations to develop and implement their voter contact and voter registration field plans as well as expanding their advocacy capacity.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Meet with and assess the organizing capacity and field operations of Table members.
- Work with members to develop coordinated field plans to mobilize in key regions of the state on issues and conduct GOTV.
- Serve as a resource and adviser on large-scale voter contact and issue organizing programs.
- Help members integrate nonpartisan voter engagement efforts into their existing programming or services, including voter registration and GOTV.
- Encourage and support organizational partners' utilization of the Voter Activation Network and assist in the creation of plans that use this essential tool.
- Work with members to build tests and experiments into their programming to assess the effectiveness of voter contact strategies.
- Assist in developing a year-round Fellowship program to train emerging community activists and leaders in civic engagement skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Nebraska nonprofits, social justice organizations, and political landscape.
- Ability to set goals, work independently and meet deadlines.
- 3-4 years' experience in labor, political or community organizing and political campaigns preferred. Field organizing experience required.
- Experience working with underrepresented and/or diverse communities preferred.
- Experience facilitating coalitions and knowledge of the political landscape in the state are required.
- Strong VAN (Voter Activation Network) skills required .
- Willingness and ability to travel within Nebraska (including by car with a valid driver's license) and some national travel.
- Proficiency with Spanish preferred but not required.
