Campus Vote Project National Field Director
Campus Vote Project (CVP) is a campaign of the nonpartisan Fair Elections Legal Network (FELN) that is designed to empower students, faculty, and administrators with the tools they need to break down barriers to voting for college students.
Reporting to the Campus Vote Project National Director, the Field Director will focus on recruiting and engaging an active base of campus partners among administrators and faculty.
Position Description
FELN seeks to hire a full-time field director for CVP. The position will have the following responsibilities:
· Collaborate with the CVP Director to develop and execute outreach strategy;
· Coordinate CVP work throughout target states, serving as the primary communication point between campuses and FELN/CVP staff and making partners aware of CVP's resources;
· Engage partner organizations to implement student democratic engagement efforts at the campus and state level; and
· Work with administrators, faculty, and students on campuses to coordinate CVP trainings and webinars on student democratic engagement and election basics;
· Work with the CVP Director and FELN communications staff to identify and produce additional materials needed for the project;
· Identify and use data reporting tools to ensure consistent and thorough tracking of results;
· Represent and promote CVP at national, state, and regional gatherings of important stakeholders, such as college administrators, faculty, and students;
· Potential to assist in training and supervising of CVP State Coordinators and Student Fellows during election years.
This position requires frequent travel. Field director should have access to a car for regional travel from area where they are located.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two full cycles of election campaigns or 2 to 3 years of advocacy campaigns;
- Knowledge of higher education community a plus;
- Experience managing volunteers or staff in successful organizing projects;
- Demonstrated ability to organize in diverse communities and build coalitions;
- Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects;
- Superior written and oral communication skills;
- Professionalism: Field Director will be tasked with communicating with college administrators and partner organizations throughout the country. A high level of professionalism is required at all times when working on behalf of FELN and CVP; and
- Self-motivated: Field Director will be supervised, but a high level of self-motivation is required.
