-- SUMMARY:
NextGen Climate is currently seeking detail oriented and highly motivated organizers to join our team in Iowa as Regional Field Directors through the 2016 General Election. RFDs will be responsible for managing geographical turf, local political relationships, staff and volunteer recruitment efforts. Ideal candidates will have previous field experience managing staff, working on college campuses and building local political relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing and coaching staff to hit regional goals and deadlines
Develop strong campus programs to engage students and faculty
Develop and manage regional political contacts
Responsible for developing and delivering regional organizing trainings and support
Responsible for executing voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and event management
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 2 cycles of campaign field experience
Experience working with VAN
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to adapt rapidly to evolving priorities and deadlines
Driven with a strong work ethic
Act with high integrity and character
Demonstrate responsible leadership in all activities
Ability to travel and work flexible hours
Previous climate, energy or environmental issue organizing experience a plus
Previous work experience in youth and student organizing a plus
