Title: Special Assistant to the SVP of Development Status: Non-Exempt

General Description:
LCV works to turn environmental values into national, state and local priorities. LCV, in collaboration with our state LCV partners, advocates for sound environmental laws and policies, holds elected officials accountable for their votes and actions, and elects pro-environment candidates who will champion our priority issues.
The Special Assistant to the SVP of Development is an important member in a top-notch team of fundraising professionals. The Special Assistant enhances and supports the work of the Senior Vice President and works closely with other senior leaders across the organization to help implement multiple fundraising strategies and ensure the administrative systems needed to meet our goals are developed and implemented at the highest levels.
Responsibilities:
• Assist the Senior Vice President of Development, as needed, including with administrative, writing, travel logistics, and scheduling support.
• Support LCV's senior staff in major gifts fundraising, including by securing meetings, scheduling calls, and managing all necessary follow up for principal donors.
• Work with the foundations team to oversee grants tracking, ensuring all reporting and proposal deadlines are met.
• Assist the foundations team with research, data entry and other projects as needed.
• Help develop and maintain compelling major donor packet materials and assemble as needed for the fundraising team.
• Update and maintain weekly tracking reports and circulate them to the Development Department and LCV's President.
• Develop and implement logistical and administrative systems to keep the Development Division efficient and effective.
• Coordinate information sharing within the department, including by scheduling and preparing agendas and prep documents for team meetings.
• Contribute to team effort with other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Education: College degree required.
• Work experience: Experience working in a non-profit, political organization or campaign desirable; database experience preferred.
• Skills: Good written and oral communications skills, excellent skills in word processing and spreadsheets (Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel required, PowerPoint preferred). Attentive to details, and adept at developing and maintaining systems.
• Capabilities: Extremely well organized; critical thinking skills; a sense of teamwork and community; ability to handle multiple tasks and work for several people; commitment to environmental protection and mission of LCV; great sense of humor.
• Conditions: Able to work occasional overtime to get the job done.
