Immediately Hiring Field Organizers in Virginia for
Clean Energy/Enviro Justice Legislative Campaign
On behalf of the VA League of Conservation Voters, Progressive Organizing Solutions is hiring in Virginia for a large-scale membership mobilization and issue advocacy campaign it is conducting. We are hiring enthusiastic field organizers to recruit and train environmental activists in Richmond and Hampton Roads.
In this professional capacity, you will execute a volunteer organizing and issue advocacy campaign to engage VALCV members as volunteers and activists in environmental issue advocacy, earned media and grassroots lobbying activities. Issue focuses will include building support for reducing carbon emissions, encouraging executive action to clean up coal fired power plants, raising awareness about the need to address global warming and other conservation and public health/environmental justice issues. Successful candidates must have at least one year of community, issue, labor, or political organizing, excellent organizational skills, strong written and oral communication skills and must work well in a team. The position requires extensive volunteer recruitment, training and management, reliable transportation and a willingness to work evening and Saturday hours.
