Summer Organizing Fellowship

Brass Tactics, is a grassroots advocacy firm specializing in developing and managing issue and electoral campaigns. We work closely with national organizations, corporate partners, and state and local governments on a variety of progressive issues.


The 2017 Summer Organizing Fellowship Program will be based in our Washington DC office, and may include travel opportunities. The fellowship is designed to not only provide an introduction to and experience in organizing, but also creating social and digital content to support organizing efforts, program analysis, research, and more.


The fellowship is 40 hours per week with a $1,000 per month stipend, as well as college credit if requested. Fellows will be supervised and report to a Brass Tactics manager, but also have chance to work with all members of the Brass Tactics staff.


Responsibilities:

  • Support staff in creating and executing grassroots organizing campaigns

  • Create social and digital content for programs

  • Research for multiple projects, including both one-off and on-going assignments

  • Use program data and metrics to produce analysis of work

  • Track and capture press clips from grassroots actions

  • Perform voter contact activities as needed

  • Administrative duties on occasional request


Qualifications:

  • Current college student enrolled in a bachelor degree program or recent graduate with bachelor's degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer proficiency must include Word, and conducting internet research

  • Experience with Excel and Google Docs is preferred

  • Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-moving, team-oriented environment
