Position Description
America Votes seeks a full-time staff and program coordinator for the national headquarters in Washington, DC. This role is an exciting opportunity for a highly organized, detail-oriented multi-tasker to contribute to the seamless functioning of the national office. S/he will serve as the right hand to the managing director and will be responsible for a variety of duties, including meeting and logistics management, internal communications, management of the intern program and coordination of critical human resources processes. The ideal candidate will be a true self-starter with strong people and project management skills, a knack for devising creative solutions to any problem that arises and a commitment to progressive values.

Responsibilities
· Supporting the managing director on a day-to-day basis with various tasks as needed, including scheduling and other administrative tasks.
· Handling logistics and providing support for all staff meetings, board meetings, trainings and retreats.
· Assisting with website updates as well as creating, editing and distributing a variety of documents and presentations for internal and external use.
· Coordinating the hiring process, including scheduling candidate interviews, distributing and collecting new hire paperwork and organizing orientations.
· Oversee the internship program by hiring, training and managing one to four interns each semester.
· Supporting the managing director in planning and executing the annual America Votes State Summit, a two-day conference attended by more than 700 attendees from across the country.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Demonstrated ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds. Must be capable of achieving results while maintaining an inclusive, collaborative working style. Experience working with communities of color preferred.
· Proven ability to prioritize and handle a variety of projects while remaining detail-oriented and meeting deadlines.
· Comfortable initiating work and executing independently while exercising good judgment and discretion.
· Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication.
· Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
· Knowledge of and a strong commitment to progressive causes preferred.
An Ideal Candidate will have:
· One to three years of work experience (work study and internship experience accepted, executive administration experience a plus).
· Demonstrated logistics management and event planning experience.
· Interest in learning and becoming proficient in key human resources processes such as hiring and onboarding.
· Interest in implementing race equity policies and principles across the organization.
· An eye for visual formatting.
· Proficiency in WordPress or similar platforms.
· A strong customer orientation and the ability to handle pressure with a sense of humor and a spirit of generosity.
Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience $40K-$45K. Dynamic benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance as well as a 401(K).
