Florida Democratic Party Regional Field Directors
The Florida Democratic Party is hiring Regional Field Directors to help lead its 2018 coordinated campaign to elect Democrats at every level of government in the country's largest and most competitive swing state.
 
Regional Field Directors with the Florida Democratic Party are core members of the team, responsible for strategic direction of the organization.  As an RFD you are responsible for managing organizers, meeting regional goals, tailoring the statewide field plan to meet regional needs, and managing regional collation building.

RFDs will use their own independent judgement to create voter contact and volunteer recruitment plans specific to their region, and have broad discretion to determine how to best grow and expand the party to ensure our immediate electoral, and long-term growth and success as a party.


Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Managing and training a team of Organizers and overseeing regional offices;
  • Coaching Organizers to create and maintain a productive and robust volunteer infrastructure;
  • Implementing clear systems of accountability to ensure that regional goals are consistently met;
  • Executing the state field plan within your region;
  • Hiring Organizers and providing ongoing training throughout the cycle
  • Coordinating regional events and volunteer trainings on a local level;
  • Be a representative for the Florida Democratic Party's Coordinated Campaign in their assigned region -- engaging in authentic community building;
  • Develop unique and regional community engagement plans and build long lasting progressive coalitions;
  • Build an extensive and long-term volunteer infrastructure in their assigned region;
  • Providing appropriate oversight to organizers to successfully plan canvasses, phone banks, voter registration events, house parties, forums and other party events as directed in assigned region;
  • Oversight of daily reporting and data entry deadlines for organizers;
  • Participating in regular reporting conference calls;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and skills:

·         Strong leadership skills and a commitment to developing a strong and supportive team culture;

·         One to two cycles of campaign experience, preferably with at least one cycle as a field organizer;

·         Experience meeting goals and holding others accountable;

·         Personal experience with developing volunteer leadership and teams;

·         Familiarity with Votebuilder and other campaign technology;

·         Applicants should be highly motivated self-starters and strong team players;

·         Identify with the values of the Democratic Party;

·         Committed to empowering others to create change in their communities;

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills;

·         Able to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment;

·         Comfortable working long hours and weekends as needed;

·         Access to reliable transportation.
