ABOUT LEADERS IGNITING TRANSFORMATION:
Leaders Igniting Transformation (LIT) is a youth of color led independent nonprofit. Founded in 2017, LIT engages engages in values-based issue and electoral organizing, direct action, advocacy for public policy, and leadership development. On campuses and communities in Milwaukee's key geographies, we organize young people to build independent political power for social, racial and economic justice.
As person on the organizing team, you'll be responsible for contributing to these various projects
Chapter Building
- Working in & on assigned campuses and high school building strong chapters through relational organizing with students, teachers, and other allies. Support chapters with in school training on organizing, issue development, storytelling for change, and more.
Member Recruitment
- Meeting assigned metrics and goals, building out the Leaders Igniting Transformation membership base.
Fellow Development + Management
- Identify, hire, and provide development for high school and college fellows. Manage student fellows to organize their schools / campuses.
Fundraising
- Assist with monthly donor recruitment & retention to ensure Leaders Igniting Transformation has the resources needed for power movement building and youth development
Campaigns + Civic Engagement
- Move forward the campaigns (BROKE AF, Invest Divest, Democracy Done Right) of Leaders Igniting Transformation through relational organizing, issue research, power analysis, one on ones with youth and other stakeholders.
