JOB DESCRIPTION - Analytics Director

The PCCC seeks a Analytics Director to assist with data analysis and support for online organizing. The PCCC is a virtual work environment, this position can be based anywhere in the United States.

The Analytics Director works most closely with the online organizing team, which raises over $3 million annually in grassroots donations for PCCC and progressive candidates and causes. This position reports to the Director of Online Membership Engagement and will be in charge of helping maintain the health, happiness, and productivity of one of the progressive movement's largest email lists.

Applications close 11:59PM PT Monday, February 4.

Responsibilities include:

Testing and scaling our marketing and member engagement tactics. Make our organizing bigger and better by A/B testing our tactics -- this can include recurring donor retention strategies, increasing calls from our call alert emails, field experiments, or page design tests. The Director of Analytics is expected to explore their curiosity and look for ways to improve membership retention and fundraising in as many ways they can and will be granted wide latitude to test existing tactics. They will be charged with improving fundraising performance in a multi-channel environment (email, SMS, ads, and other tactics.) The Director of Analytics is also in charge of growing revenue from our fast-growing online store and merchandise programs -- we sell thousands of items a year -- including working with our design and email teams on concept development and marketing.

Database maintenance and survey analysis. Developing and automating reports, maintaining and cleaning membership record and donation databases. In-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis of surveys of PCCC membership. Pulling lists of PCCC members for targeting and local activism. Maintenance and organization of tags and membership data such as activism history throughout PCCC's 10 years and interest issues. Data support for list acquisition projects such as online advertising and joint actions. This position will work closely with both the grassroots fundraising and development teams.

Email organizing technical support and systems administration. Maintaining high deliverability and list hygiene. ActionKit administration tasks, including staff permissions, maintaining page and email templates.

Online organizing production. The Analytics Director will have access to design, implement, and stage their own tests. The Director of Analytics will recommend and implement ways to efficiently personalize emails, and better target them.

Staff support. When PCCC staff have a data question, need a list, or are looking for ways to make their programs more efficient, the Analytics Director is brought in, with an emphasis on automating as many reports as possible, and solving data problems.

Tactical innovation. The Analytics Director will have wide latitude to experiment with and improve on novel and alternative tactics for both fundraising and organizing. In the past, the Director of Analytics has beta-tested SMS, online advertising, robocalls, partnership and revenue and referral programs. If it's something new to PCCC, the Director of Analytics will have a chance to kick the tires. The Director of Analytics is in charge of many vendor relationships.

Strong applicants will have:
Strong familiarity with ActionKit (preferred) or other online organizing platforms such as BSD or ActionNetwork.
SQL, HTML, and CSS.
Strong understanding of Google Spreadsheets.
Understanding of A/B testing and online organizing tactics.
Strong, unwavering commitment to progressive politics

About Us

The Progressive Change Campaign Committee (BoldProgressives.org) is a million member grassroots organization building power at the local, state and federal levels. It engages in electoral work and issue advocacy work -- fighting on democracy issues and for economic populist priorities like expanding Social Security, debt-free college, and Wall Street reform. Senator Elizabeth Warren said: "PCCC members were with me since the beginning -- even before there was a beginning! Now, we have lots of work to do together." The PCCC has raised over $27 million in grassroots donations for its electoral and advocacy work -- and directly for progressive candidates and committees. It has also trained hundreds of state and local candidates and elected dozens of bold progressives to Congress.
